Live dealer
Live dealer casinos for Canadian players
Live dealer games stream a real table (blackjack, roulette, baccarat or a game show) from a studio, and you bet through your screen before a timer runs out. On our list, all four featured brands have a Live tab. Several Casino Rewards sites describe live sections too: Captain Cooks, Golden Tiger and Casino Classic cover blackjack, roulette, baccarat and game shows, Yukon Gold shows presenter-hosted roulette and baccarat, and Luxury lists Live Blackjack.

How a live table works
A studio films a real dealer and table. Your screen shows the video plus a betting interface. You place chips before a countdown ends, and the dealer then deals, spins or draws. Results come from the physical game, and software reads them (for example, from the cards or the wheel) to settle bets. Chat boxes let you message the dealer, and the same etiquette applies as in any casino.
The main live games
- Live blackjack: usually seven seats, with “bet behind” when tables are full. Check the rules for dealer-stand and payout details.
- Live roulette: European (single zero) has a lower house edge than American (double zero). Some variants add random multipliers, which change the payout structure.
- Live baccarat: simple rules and fast rounds. Squeeze variants slow down the card reveal for drama.
- Game shows: money-wheel and TV-style formats. Entertaining, but often with higher house edges than classic tables.
Live games and bonuses
If you mainly play live tables, read the wagering contribution rules before accepting any welcome bonus. Many casinos count live and table games at a small fraction of each bet, or not at all, and some also cap bet sizes while a bonus is active. Playing without a bonus is often cleaner. See wagering requirements explained.
Technical tips
- A steady connection matters more than device power. Drop to a lower video quality if the stream stutters.
- If you disconnect mid-round, the table's rules decide how your bet settles. Read them once.
- On phones, portrait layouts are easier to read. See mobile casinos.
Live dealer questions
Are live dealer games fair?
They use real cards, wheels and shoes on camera rather than a random number generator, so the physical game decides the result. Stick to licensed sites, and remember the house edge applies exactly as in a land-based casino.
Can I use a bonus on live dealer games?
Often only partly. Live and table games frequently count for a small share, or none, of each bet toward wagering. Check the contribution table before you accept a bonus.
