Online casinos in Ontario: how the regulated market works
Ontario is the only province where private online casinos can be licensed. Operators register with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and contract with iGaming Ontario (iGO), and every approved site appears in iGO's public directory. To play legally in Ontario's market you must be 19 or older and physically in Ontario. None of the casino sites CasinoNook links to is registered there, so Ontario residents should use the directory, not our list.

The iGO directory
iGaming Ontario publishes a searchable list of every regulated operator and website. On 27 September 2026, the page counted 49 operators and 84 gaming websites, with the listing dated 1 September 2026. It repeats two conditions: players must be 19+ and physically located in Ontario. It also notes that OLG.ca runs separately, under the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.
Use the directory whenever a site claims to be “Ontario-approved”. If it isn't listed, it isn't part of the regulated market.
Where our 20 brands stand
None of the 20 sites we link to appears in the iGO directory. That includes the four ProgressPlay brands, whose UK licence does not cover Ontario. Seven Casino Rewards brands, however, run separate Ontario-only sites that are listed:

|---|---|---|
| Yukon Gold Casino | ontario.yukongold.casino | yukongold.casino (international, not for Ontario) |
| Zodiac Casino | ontario.zodiac.casino | zodiac.casino (international, not for Ontario) |
| Captain Cooks Casino | ontario.captaincooks.casino | captaincooks.casino (international, not for Ontario) |
| Grand Mondial Casino | ontario.grandmondial.casino | grandmondial.casino (international, not for Ontario) |

The Ontario versions are different sites with their own account rules. We don't link to them, because we don't have affiliate links for them. Reach them through the iGO directory.
Why the regulated market matters to you
- Local recourse: complaints about an iGO-listed site can be escalated within Ontario's system. With an international site, they can't.
- Common safer-gambling standards across all regulated operators.
- One-stop self-exclusion: BetGuard covers every regulated site at once.
