Safer gambling
Safer gambling in Canada: help, limits and self-exclusion
You must be an adult to gamble online: 18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec, and 19 everywhere else in Canada. It should cost only what you'd happily spend on entertainment. If it's costing more (money, time, sleep or relationships), free and confidential help is a phone call away in every province and territory. Every casino we list also offers limits and self-exclusion; use them early rather than late.

Signs gambling is becoming a problem
- Spending more than you planned, or more than you can afford, more often.
- Chasing losses: depositing again to win back what's gone.
- Hiding gambling from people close to you, or borrowing to fund it.
- Feeling restless or irritable when you try to cut down.
- Gambling to escape stress, low mood or boredom.
One sign is enough to reach out. You don't need to hit “rock bottom” first.
The tools our listed casinos offer
ProgressPlay brands (BetNeptune, AceLucky, LekkerBets, AfricaSports)
- Deposit limits (the gross amount you pay in), stake limits (total wagered) and loss limits (net losses), each daily, weekly or monthly, set yourself.
- Time-out, session expiry and a reality-check timer that stops play when it runs out.
- Self-exclusion, reviewed by the operator's responsible-gambling team.
- Limits apply across every account you hold in the operator's network.
Casino Rewards sites (16 brands)
- Deposit limits daily, weekly or monthly, arranged by contacting support. Increases take effect only after 24 hours.
- Cooling-off periods from 24 hours to six weeks.
- A six-month self-exclusion that can't be reversed once applied, plus a link to the Kahnawake Gaming Commission's comprehensive self-exclusion.
Habits that help
- Decide a budget in dollars before you log in, and set a matching deposit limit.
- Treat anything you lose as the price of entertainment. Never gamble with money for bills.
- Turn off promotional emails and notifications.
- Take breaks, and don't gamble when drinking, upset or tired.
- Skip bonuses if the wagering would keep you playing longer than you want to.
Keeping gambling away from young people
Gambling sites are for adults only. If children use your devices, keep casino logins out of shared browsers, use device-level parental controls, and don't leave gambling apps or bookmarks on shared screens.
Safer gambling questions
Where can I get help for gambling in Canada?
Every province and territory has a free help line; they are listed on this page. In Ontario, ConnexOntario answers 24/7 at 1-866-531-2600. The Responsible Gambling Council also keeps a national list of services.
What is the difference between a deposit limit, a stake limit and a loss limit?
A deposit limit caps how much money you can pay into your account in a period. A stake (wager) limit caps the total you can bet. A loss limit caps how much you can lose after winnings are counted. The ProgressPlay brands we list let you set all three yourself.
Can I undo a self-exclusion?
Usually not before it ends. The Casino Rewards sites we list say a self-exclusion cannot be reversed once applied, and ProgressPlay brands route requests through their responsible-gambling team.
